The purpose of this course is to provide evidence-based literature to help prepare nurses for the challenges the acute ischemic stroke patient may present during their Emergency Department and hospital stay. This course will assist nurses in reviewing assessments and cerebral artery anatomy, stroke scales, laboratory values, radiology testing, medications and nursing interventions which are associated with the treatment of this type of patient.
