The purpose of this continuing education course is to provide an overview of the role of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) in the pathogenesis of hypertension. This will facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the pharmacology of RAAS drugs, including angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and direct renin inhibitors (DRIs).
