Hazards of Heparin is a two contact hour continuing educational (CE) activity for nurses. Heparin is a high alert drug and the consequences of heparin errors can be fatal. Thus, it is important that nurses understand safety procedures for administering heparin and monitoring patient responses to this drug. This CE activity provides knowledge needed to meet the National Patient Safety Goal requirement for safeguarding against heparin errors.
